Our process.

Thank you for your interest in our work! To kick things off, we’d like to get to know you! We’d love to host you at our studio on Blossom St., where you can see and touch our work and albums in person, but we’re also available for virtual meetings. In this initial meeting, we’ll talk over your wedding weekend plans and vision, and talk about any photography preferences you have. We’ll share with you our vision, our passion, and our approach. We’ll also share any expertise we can offer, answering any questions you have about our studio or your wedding day. The most important goal of this meeting is to learn more about each other, and to see if we’re the right fit to capture this incredibly important stage of your life!

We are thrilled, and honored, to work with you! We require a signed contract and initial payment to secure your booking. The earlier, the better – we often have multiple couples interested in the same date. When you are ready to move forward, contact our studio and we’ll be in touch with your contract via email. Please sign and return the contract with your initial payment (half of the total amount due, including tax). With that, we’re ready to roll!

We also capture engagement portraits, which are a great way for us to work with you both together before the big day. We have many wonderful location options in Houston, but we typically begin by asking you if there is a special or meaningful location for the two of you. We’ve captured portraits in all kinds of places, from family homes to family ranches, to parks and restaurants around town. We can even host a shoot at our studio on Blossom St., where we have both indoor and outdoor options. With engagement portraits, you’ll walk away with a set of beautiful images of the two of you, and a fun, shared experience of working together before the big day!

Bridal portraits are a beautiful tradition. All of our packages include at least one portrait session – again, booking as early as possible will give you the most scheduling flexibility. Portrait sessions are scheduled Monday - Thursday, typically between 4pm and 5pm. If you’d like your bridal portraits shot at a private venue, you will need to coordinate with their calendar. Please be aware that some locations only allow photography on certain days of the week.

Often overlooked, rehearsal dinners provide a unique opportunity to create intimate photographs of those closest to you. They also offer our team a head start in connecting with you and those closest to you – those that you want us to be certain to capture on your wedding day. If you desire coverage of your rehearsal dinner, please let us know as soon as possible. While we try to reserve Friday evenings for our wedding clients, we do have others who might request this day, as well.

Coordinating with wedding planners is invaluable in helping to optimize our own photography schedule, so please put us in touch with your planner in advance. In addition, we like to prepare a shot list before the wedding day, so that we can be sure to capture the images you want most, in addition to the small moments in between! Finally, we require a final payment before the event. Please plan on sending in your remaining balance at least two weeks prior to your wedding date.

Your day was amazing and we were overjoyed to capture it! Now you’re off on your honeymoon, enjoying the peace and quiet – while you’re away, we are working hard on your photos and know you’re anxious to see them! Within the week, we will take some of our favorite images and craft your Honeymoon Preview, sent to you via email. We cannot wait for you to see these images and connect back to your magical day!

After your Honeymoon Preview, our work continues. We process each and every photo with painstaking attention to detail. In 10 - 12 weeks, you will receive an email announcing your online gallery is ready. At this time you can access all of the photos from your wedding day – feel free to share the online gallery with friends and family, as well! Orders can be placed online for quick, online prints, but be sure to reach out to the studio if you need Custom Prints or want to get started on an album. Feel free to start selecting your favorite images for your albums or custom prints.

We offer a multitude of ways to preserve your wedding memories, allowing you to connect back to the joy of your day anytime! You will have digital files, of course, but we believe that great photography belongs on archival paper. Our fine art custom prints are handmade and include local adjustments that further enhance each image. We will also recommend black and white conversions and take other artistic measures for specific images. With matted pages and customized page designs, our albums tell your wedding story in a tangible way. We will show you product options and help you determine which is the best for you. The process can take some time, but is certainly a worthwhile investment. If the idea of a bespoke album is overwhelming, we do offer pre-designs to make album production as painless as possible.
